Post subject: | Adding Named Destination to exsiting PDF(s) |
As part of my job, I often have several PDFs (1 page each) that need to be merged together. The resulting PDF is then edited using Adobe Acrobat to add named destinations to it. I always use the original pre-merged PDF file named for the named destinations. This allows me to link to specific locations in the PDF file from HTML. For example, I have two 1 page files called 201-1.pdf and 201-2.pdf, and I want to merge them into a single file with two named destinations in it. The first named destination "201-1" would be for the first page and the second named destination "201-2" would be for the second page. This example is of course simplified since most of the time I need to merge several dozen files together. I have tried using the #page=x directive but the problem I have with this is that pages might get inserted into the merged PDF and this would require that I change the HTML of the pages that link to the PDF. I would like to automate this process by creating a simple merge program that would first add a named the destination to each individual PDF then merge them together. I am an experienced C# programmer but I am not familiar with the PDF specification. I simply don’t have that kind of time on my hands. I would appreciate any help I can get. |
