Hello, i want to insert a barcode datamatrix into pdf document. It's ok, but there is a cross into it. I read that "a Data Matrix is a fake into open source version " into example. Why? There is a licence to buy? Thank you. |

The problem is that it is not allowed to make the data matrix algorithm public. So we replace the source code with a stub that draws some random bits. |

While I'm not sure about being unable to make it public (guess it's on a different licence?) the datamatrix spec itself is open, you could write your own or there are bsd/lgpl based libraries like libdmtx and datamatrix.net (based on libdmtx I believe), It's very easy to drop the encoder from either into where the byte array is generated. I found the output to the pdf was backwards compared to what I expected so I had to adjust the render code too which I simplified for my needs. Took me a couple of hours to sort. |

Has there been any news about support for data matrix barcodes as of yet by any of the team. As I get a NullPointerException with regards to the field image. My guess is that it has not been implemented as of yet. Could any of the team please clarify if there has been progress or this just won't be added. Many thanks Multicoder |
