Hello, everybody!

As of today, PDFsharp 6.0.0-preview-2 is available.

You can find the source code on github.com:
https://github.com/empira/PDFsharp

You can find binaries (assemblies) on NuGet. Make sure to check "Include prerelease" in the NuGet Package Manager.

Note: On NuGet there are Core, GDI, and WPF packages.

The six new preview NuGet packages:

Samples can be found on GitHub:

Changes:
  • Uses .NET 6.0
  • Core build can be used under Windows, Linux, and all other platforms where .NET 6 is running on.
  • MigraDoc table rendering got faster again.

Note that there is only one source code repository containing PDFsharp and MigraDoc.
Note that there is only one sample repository containing PDFsharp and MigraDoc samples.

List of breaking changes:

Please report all regressions versus 1.51.
Several bugs have been fixed - and hopefully there are no new bugs.

Hi, we are migrating from PdfSharp .NET Framework, and thinking what should we use PdfSharpCore https://www.nuget.org/packages/PdfSharpCore(seems to be supported by other people) or this preview package. What is your recommendation for using it now in production? Most likely no or yes or at our own risk?

You decide.

From their project website:
Quote:
PdfSharpCore is a partial port of PdfSharp.Xamarin for .NET Standard. Additionally MigraDoc has been ported as well (from version 1.32).
So you can choose between a stable version of a partial port of a partial port of something we published in 2012/2013.
Or take the new preview that may have some teething problems.

What is your release time frame?
Personally, I would go for 6.0.0 Preview 1.
Little risk if you are creating new PDF files with your app. You can test this carefully with good coverage.
Somewhat higher risk if you are importing PDF files supplied by customers. You can never know what corrupt PDF files you will be given.

We just released Preview 2. The first post in this thread was updated to reflect this.
Preview 2 brings some bug fixes.

Hello!
Is there any estimated date for one a stable version would be release? I want to use the library, but depending on how long it would take, I might prefer to wait for a stable version.
Thanks for your efforts in creating this library!

No.
"Stable" is just a tag. 6.0.0-preview-3 (coming soon) should be mature enough for production use. And we only get feedback if people use 6.0.0-preview-2.

I recommend start using 6.0.0-preview-2 now and let use know about problems you encounter.
